Striking more reconciliations in Daraa | Over 300 persons in Tel Shehab have their security situation settled

Daraa province: SOHR activists have reported that hundreds of civilians have struck new reconciliations in Tel Shehab town in Daraa countryside and handed over their weapons, where the number of these people exceeded 300, including armed men, military deserters and people who passed their date of joining mandatory service.

The process of striking the new reconciliations and handing over of weapons will continue until tomorrow as a part of implementation of agreements reached in the western countryside of Daraa.

Earlier today, SOHR sources reported the entry of regime forces, security services and the Russian military police to Tel Shehab town as a part of ongoing process of striking new reconciliations in west Daraa countryside. The regime forces and Russian military police established a centre for striking the new reconciliations in a school in the town in accordance with the agreement reached between the Central Committee and the security committee in Daraa city. The agreement stipulated for striking new reconciliations, handing over of weapons and deployment of military forces in al-Yadoudah, al-Muzayrib and Tafas in the western countryside of Daraa.

It is worth noting that the number of suspected, local gunmen, military deserters and people who passed their date of joining the mandatory service to regime’s security branches, who had their security situations settled in Tafas city exceeded 800. Meanwhile, striking new reconciliations continued in al-Yadoudah and al-Muzayrib towns.

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported a bombardment with tanks on Masaken Jillen town, where a shell hit Tel Shehab village in west Daraa countryside. The bombardment coincided with clashes between unknown gunmen and regime forces nearby al-Ruba’ei checkpoint and Masaken Jillen’s checkpoint. However, no casualties were reported.

These developments came after soldiers stationed at regime checkpoints had harassed civilians, assaulted several children and looted money of people passing through these checkpoints.

SOHR sources in Daraa reported earlier that regime forces established new military posts in Tafas city according to the agreement between the regime security committee and Russian officers on one hand, and dignitaries and notables of Tafas city on the other. Moreover, regime forces would be deployed in the city and surrounding areas, along with the ongoing process of settling security situation of suspects, as the number of local gunmen, military deserters and people who passed their date of joining the mandatory service to regime’s security branches who struck new reconciliations exceeded 700.
