Instable security in SDF-held areas | ISIS cells attack Hammar al-Ali municipality in western Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists say that unknown gunmen, but believed to be of ISIS cells, attacked the municipality of the SDF-controlled town of Hammar al-Ali town in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor with machineguns and grenades. The attack caused material damage, but no casualties have been reported so far.

 

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that gunmen on a motorcycle shot a former SDF fighter dead in al-Busayrah city in eastern Deir Ezzor.

 

On September 21, SOHR activists have reported that a former member of “Deir Ezzor Military Council” died of severe wounds sustained a while ago, when unknown gunmen opened fire on him and his family at al-Sa’a roundabout in al-Busayrah city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

 

This attack came as a part of ISIS escalating operations against civilians and SDF fighters.

 

As more fatalities are recorded and updated regularly, the number of people who were killed in areas within the four provinces of Aleppo, Deir Ezzor, Al-Raqqah and Al-Hasakah, in addition to the SDF-held area of Manbij in the north-east of Aleppo rose to 799 fighters, civilians, oil workers, and officials in service parties.

 

The Syrian Observatory documented the assassination of 288 civilians including 18 children and 15 women by armed cells in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, al-Hasakah countryside, al-Raqqah city and countryside, and Manbij area. In addition, 507 SDF fighters, including local leaders, were assassinated in the same areas.

 

Also, four members of International Coalition were killed. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights Human also documented tens of injuries due to these assassinations.
