“Handed over bodies of two militiamen to SDF a few months ago” | SOHR discloses further details on execution of shepherd by “Syrian Liberation Front” in Ain Issa

The Syrian Observatory has obtained new details of the security operation by the Turkish-backed “Syrian Liberation Front” in the countryside of Ain Issa in northern al-Raqqah on Wednesday.

 

According to SOHR activists, the security operation targeted the shepherd who was executed by the Turkish-backed faction in Dabas village in western Ain Issa, as the shepherd had draw off the bodies of two Turkish-backed militiamen, a few months earlier, and handed them to Syria Democratic Forces. It is worth noting that the two militiamen were killed in clashes with SDF in Bayloniyyah area in Ain Issa countryside, but the factions could not retrieve their bodies at that time.

 

The faction’s militiamen did not only retaliated against the shepherd by executing him, but they also looted tens of sheep he owned and stole money and gold from his house.

 

SOHR activists have also confirmed that the reports announced by the “Syrian Liberation Front” on killing five SDF fighters and, taking over weapons and booby-trapping tunnels and trenches during the faction’s operation are completely untrue.

 

On Wednesday, SOHR sources reported heavy rocket fire by Turkish forces and their proxies on positions in Fatsah and al-Dabas areas in Ain Issa town in the north of al-Raqqah and other positions on the international highway M4, which left wounded people, as the rockets hit several vehicles while traveling on the international highway.

 

The attack came as a reaction to the a filed infiltration attempt by Turkish-backed factions in the early hours of Wednesday morning on Dabas village in the west of Ain Issa, which left casualties among the factions. However, SOHR activists could not verify the number of the deaths among the factions.

 

Earlier on that day, SOHR activists reported an infiltration attempt by militiamen of Turkish-backed factions in the early hours of Wednesday morning into the SDF-held village of Dabas in west Ain Issa countryside.

 

The Turkish-backed militiamen looted dozens of sheep and kidnapped the shepherd, before executing him by firing squad and dumping his body away. The attack also left the shepherd’s parents wounded as they were shot by the militiamen. Meanwhile, violent clashes erupted between the factions’ members and SDF, amid confirmed reports of casualties on both sides.
