Ongoing violations by National Army factions | Civil police suspend work in Ras al-Ain (Sere Kaniye)

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists have reported that the civil police has suspended its work in Ras al-Ain (Sere Kaniye) that is stationed in the Peace Spring area in al-Hasakah countryside due to the repeated clashes and escalated violations by members of Turkey-backed National Army, last of which was yesterday when gunmen of al-Hamzah Division have assaulted head of one of the police stations in al-Mahatah neighborhood in Ras al-Ain.

The attack happened when members of the Division hit the head of the police station took his car, but reasons behind the attack remained unknown. The police wasn’t able to held the national Army members accountable despite their violations.

According to SOHR activists, the Civil Police head in Ras al-Ain city currently meet with leader of Turkish Jandarma in the building of the police leadership.

On Sept. 25, SOHR activists reported a meeting between the dignitaries and notables of al-Qura’an tribe to which a young man known by his initials as K. D. who died under torture by Turkish-backed factions belonged. It is worth noting that the victim was from al-Tayana town in Deir Ezzor countryside, and he died under torture in the factions’ prisons in Ras al-Ain in “Peace Spring” areas in al-Hasakah countryside.

The tribe’s members vowed to retaliate against the militiamen of Turkish-backed factions for killing their son, as they confirmed that there were marks of torture on the victim’s body and beating with a sharp tool on the head.

On Sept. 20, SOHR activists reported the death of a civilian known initially as “H.D.” from al-Tayana town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, under brutal torture and shortage of medical care in the prison of “Suqur al-Shama” the armed group of the Turkish-backed “National Army”.

This accident took place in Ras al-Ain (Sere Kanyie) city under control of the “Peace Spring” areas in al-Hasakah countryside.

It is worth noting that, violence and torture in Turkish-backed faction’s prisons are dramatically escalating, where SOHR activists have monitored the brutal torture of a child by members of al-Sultan Murad brigade in the beginning of September. While, elements of the same faction tortured another child in Ras al-Ayn city, and demanded the child’s parents to pay ransom for his release.
