Deir Ezzor security instability | Unidentified gunmen assassinate former member in Asayish Forces in eastern countryside

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported that Unknown gunmen riding a motorbike have opened fire on two brothers, one of whom who was a member of the “Komin” (communes or local committees) and a former member of SDF security services, near al-Safaa mosque in al Busayra town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. The two men sustained serious injuries and were taken to the hospital, but they died of their wounds.

 

This attack comes in light of ISIS cells’ increasing activities against civilians and fighters of SDF and their affiliated military formations.

 

As more fatalities are recorded and updated regularly, the number of people who were killed from June 2018 until now in areas within the four provinces of Aleppo, Deir Ezzor, Al-Raqqah and Al-Hasakah, in addition to the SDF-held area of Manbij in the north-east of Aleppo rose to 802 fighters, civilians, oil workers, and officials in service parties.

 

The Syrian Observatory documented the assassination of 290 civilians including 18 children and 15 women by armed cells in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, al-Hasakah countryside, al-Raqqah city and countryside, and Manbij area. In addition, 508 SDF fighters, including local leaders, were assassinated in the same areas.

 

Also, four members of International Coalition were killed. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights Human also documented tens of injuries due to these assassinations.
