Threats of al-Mawali tribe | High alert of opposition factions and military police in Eazaz coinciding with IED explosion in city

 

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported in the early hours of Wednesday, the explosion of IED in a car of the former Chairman Local Municipality in Tal Refaat in front of his house ay Kafr Kalbeen road in south Eazaz city. The attack has wounded the official and caused material losses in the region amid alert in the Eazaz city by factions of al-Jabha al-Shamiyah, Asefat al-Shamal and the military police after threats by members of al-Mawali tribe in Afrin of attacking headquarters of civil police in case they wouldn’t release two ladies from the tribe until the afternoon of Wednesday.

Yesterday, SOHR reported that members of al-Mawali tribe gathered in Afrin city in the northern countryside of Aleppo, as a preparation for attacking the civil police headquarters in Azaz city, after members of the civil police arrested two women from al-Mawali tribe two days ago. While the reasons behind the arresting of the two women remained unknown.

The dignities of the al-Mawali tribe threatened to attack the civil police’s headquarters in the city, if the two women were not released, and gave the military police a time limit until tomorrow 12:00 pm, Wednesday, to release the two women.

This evening, SOHR activists reported that a militiaman of the Turkish-back faction of Ahrar al-Sharqiyah opened fire on a checkpoint of the military police in the east of Azaz city in the northern countryside of Aleppo, after the members stationed at the checkpoint stopped two women from Deir Ezzor for not having personal IDs.

According to SOHR sources, a member of Ahrar al-Sharqiyah and two other members of the military police were injured due to the exchange of fire between both sides. Moreover, a military vehicle of the military police was damaged during the armed fight
