Ongoing security chaos | Exchange of kidnappings between local fighters from al-Suwaidaa and Daraa

SOHR activists have reported that al-Dour village in west al-Suwaidaa countryside has witnessed exchange of kidnappings between local armed men working for security services affiliated to the Syrian regime from al-Suwaidaa and other armed men from Daraa countryside.

According to SOHR sources, armed men from Nahta town in Daraa countryside have kidnapped a member of an armed gang affiliated with the Military Security service and headed by “Raji Falhout”, while he was heading to Sama al-Hunaydat village in al-Suwaidaa countryside.

Meanwhile, the armed men of “Falhout” have blocked the roads leading to Daraa province and kidnapped several civilians, attempting to exert pressure on the armed men of Nahta town to release the kidnapped member of Falhout’s gang.

This development came after clashes between both sides for unknown reasons.

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that an armed gang released a civilian it had kidnapped a week ago, after paying a ransom of 50,000 US dollars to the gang.

On September 21, SOHR activists reported that unknown gunmen kidnapped a civilian in al-Suwaidaa city, and demanded his parents pay 100,000 USD in return for releasing him. The kidnappers threatened to kill civilian in case that his family did not pay the ransom. It is worth noting that the victim owns a pastry shop in al-Suwaidaa city.
