Ceasefire violations | Regime rocket fire interrupts cautious calm prevailing in “de-escalation zone”

SOHR activists in the “de-escalation zone” have reported that regime forces fired several rockets in the early hours of Saturday morning, targeting positions in al-Ziyyarah and Kherbet al-Naqous towns in Sahl al-Ghab in the north-western countryside of Hama, and other positions in Fulayfel and Bayanin in the southern countryside of Idlib.

Meanwhile, snipers of opposition factions opened fire on regime positions on the frontlines of Basartoun frontline in the western countryside of Aleppo, amid reports on the injury of at least two regime soldiers.

Last night, SOHR activists reported that opposition factions shelled, with artillery shells and rockets, regime positions near Jurin town in Sahl al-Ghab area in the western countryside of Hama.

This attack came as a response to the regime’s bombardment, in the morning, on residential areas in towns, cities and villages in Idlib countryside.

SOHR activists had reported the death of a displaced woman from Afes region in eastern Idlib due to the rocket fire by regime forces on the area of Batenta camp in the vicinity of Ma’aret Masren in Idlib countryside. The shelling also left five displaced people, two children and three women, injured in Areha and Jisr al-Shughur cities and Jiftelk, Qatroun and Barisha villages in al-Wastany Mountain.

Meanwhile, Russian jets had executed airstrikes over al-Bara town in Jabal al-Zawiyah in the southern countryside of Idlib, where a Turkish observation point is located. Moreover, Russian fighter jets executed several airstrikes earlier in the morning on al-Ziyarah town in Sahl al-Ghab in north-western Hama.
