Over detaining group leader on smuggling charges | Al-Malak Shah members fire RPGs on police checkpoint in Ras Al-Ain countryside

Al-Hasakah Province: The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights activists monitored a high security alert of the military police in the city of Ras al-Ain (Sari Kaniye) under control of “Spring of Peace” areas in al-Hasakah countryside, after an armed group affiliated to the Turkish-backed faction King Shah have attacked the military police elements with RPGs missiles at the Tal Halaf checkpoint near the city in response to the arrest of the group leader with another member at the Military Police checkpoint on charges of human trafficking.

It is worth noting that the border areas with Turkey are witnessing an active human trafficking, coinciding with the large wave of Syrian civilian’s exodus to neighboring countries before heading to Europe.

On September 28, SOHR activists reported that clashes erupted between two groups affiliated to the Turkish-backed al-Moatassem Division in Ras al-Ain (Sere Kaniye) in “Peace Spring” areas in al-Hasakah countryside. The clashes left one member dead and three others injured some severely.

The fighting members used heavy and medium weapons, including RPG shells, where the clashes took place in the residential neighborhoods, causing a state of panic and fear among the civilians. Meanwhile, the Military Police tried to interfere and break up the clashes.
