Respecting freedom of expression | SOHR appeals for releasing members of media office in al-Raqqa

Al-Raqqa province: SOHR activists have reported that the intelligence service in Autonomous Administration-held areas still keeps the head of the media office in the Local Council of al-Raqqa city, with two of the media office members, over charges of dealing with banned media outlets in Autonomous Administration-held areas, where restrictions are imposed on journalists and media in its areas.

On the same aspect, SOHR demands the concerned authorities to release activists in respect of the freedom of expression in Autonomous Administration-held areas, while the activists seek for an income source in dignity, under the current bad economic situation in the country.

Earlier today, SOHR activists reported that members of a patrol of SDF intelligence service arrested, yesterday, the chief of the information bureau of al-Raqqah Local Council and two members of the bureau for “dealing with regime media outlets and communication with the factions of the Turkish-backed National Army”.
