Five Russian warplanes exchange strikes in desert areas | Air strikes rise to 75 in 48 hours

Five Russian warplanes have exchanged strikes on Syrian desert that coincided with hovering of giant scouting helicopters in the region, where Russian military planes today have conducted 40 air raids on the desert of Hama and east Homs.

In the past 48 hours, Russian warplanes raids rise to 73 in the past 48. SOHR activists have reported 33 strikes by the Russian planes on Athriya and Jabal al-Amour desert near Tadmor in east Homs countryside.

Two helicopters have hovered in on Athriya desert in east Hama to monitor moves of ISIS and accompany trade convoys.

The strikes are part of the Russian escalations on ISIS spreading areas in the Syrian desert.

On Oct. 4, SOHR activists reported ongoing escalation of Russian aerial operations on ISIS positions in the Syrian desert, as Russian fighter jets successively executed over 85 airstrikes in the past 24 hours, targeting caves, bunkers and back lines in al-Rasafa and Ithiriya deserts in the triangle of Aleppo-Hama-al-Raqqah, and other positions in al-Sukhnah desert in the eastern countryside of Homs on the administrative border with Deir Ezzor province. However, ISIS sources could not verify the number of casualties and material damage caused by the recent airstrikes.
