SOHR: Two people were killed in an Israeli attack on a base in Syria

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said today, Saturday, that an Israeli missile strike on an air base in central Syria killed foreign fighters allied with Damascus and wounded several Syrian soldiers.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said two foreigners were killed in a raid on the T4 air base late Friday night, but their nationalities were not immediately clear.

The official Syrian News Agency (SANA) said earlier that “the Israeli enemy, at about nine in the evening … fired a barrage of missiles towards the T4 military airport.”

“The aggression wounded six soldiers and caused material damage,” she added.

The observatory said that the attack targeted a warehouse of drones at the base.

Most of the incoming missiles were hit by Syrian air defenses, SANA said.

Over the past years, Israel is believed to have been behind many of the strikes inside government-controlled areas of Syria.

Israel has acknowledged that it is pursuing Iran-aligned militia bases, such as the powerful Lebanese group Hezbollah, which is fighting alongside Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s forces in the civil war, and suspected arms shipments believed to be destined for Iranian-backed forces. Hizb allah.

However, Israel rarely comments on individual attacks. Hezbollah has sent its members to fight alongside Syrian government forces in much of the decade-long conflict.
