Despite Coronavirus outbreaks | Residents in northern Aleppo stage mass protest, lifting posters of “Abdullah Öcalan”

Aleppo province: SOHR sources have reported a mass demonstration in Susyan village in the northern countryside of Aleppo today, after calls by institutions of the local administration.

According to SOHR sources, hundreds of residents of Afrin participated in the demonstration which set off at 11:00 am from Tel Susyan village and headed to Sardam camp, as the protestors chanted slogans in arabik and Kurdish, praising “Abdullah Öcalan” who was the first leader of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party and condemning the “international plot against Öcalan”, as they described.

It is worth noting that the demonstration, which was preceded by calls by the local administration’s institutions, coincided with an alarming prevalence of Covid-19 at a time when people had to comply with the precautionary measures and social distancing.
