Growing security chaos in al-Suwaidaa | Unidentified assailants attack regime’s headquarters with RPG, while others kidnap manager of public company

Al-Suwaidaa province: SOHR activists have reported hearing a loud explosions near the city of al-Suwaidaa, along with gunfire at the entrance of Al-Raha town, where unknown assailants targeted regime headquarter with RPG this morning, injuring two soldiers.

 

On the other hand, unidentified gunmen kidnapped the Director General of the Construction and Development Company in al-Suwaidaa on the road to Qanawat in the countryside of al-Suwaidaa, while he was on his way home. Moreover, unknown persons also kidnapped a civilian from al-Suwaidaa yesterday, near the city’s southern garage.

 

Syrian Observatory sources have confirmed that the kidnapping operations were carried out by groups affiliated with the Syrian regime, in order to create security chaos and a state of instability in al-Suwaidaa, the mountain region.

 

Earlier today, SOHR sources reported that unknown gunmen on a motorcycle kidnapped a civilian from Arra town in the western countryside of al-Suwaidaa, while he was in his farmland in the west of the town. The kidnappers also seized the civilian’s car.

 

On the other hand, unknown gunmen attacked civilians’ houses in al-Qurayya town in al-Suwaidaa countryside with machineguns and grenades, before the town’s residents launched a combing campaign on the outskirts of the town. However, the identities of the attackers remained unknown.

 

On October 6, SOHR activists reported that unknown individuals kidnapped a lawyer who was also a member of the bar association in al-Suwaidaa three days ago. According to SOHR activists, the lawyer’s relatives received a picture of the lawyer sent by the kidnappers on whatsapp, as he was in a bad health condition. Meanwhile, the kidnappers asked for a ransom of an estimated 100,000 USD in return for releasing the lawyer.
