Kidnap attempt | Al-Jabaha al-Shamiyah leader wounds girl in Afrin

Aleppo province: A girl was shot in her leg when she tried to prevent her attempted kidnap by a leader of al-Jabaha al-Shamiyah whose name is “Y.B” yesterday in Afrin. The girl was later transferred to Afrin Military Hospital, but reasons behind the accident remained unknown.

The incident is part of the ongoing violations by leaders and members of the Turkey-backed so-called the National Army in the areas under its control.

In Souran city under control of north Aleppo, a leader in al-Jabaha al-Shamiyah, whose is known by Abou Islam has kidnapped a young man coming from the regime-held areas fleeing the obligatory services and loot 10,000 USD he has.

Meanwhile, a member of al-Jabah al-Shamiyah, yesterday, has looted weapons and properties of “M.J” in al-herdanah village in Azaz countryside who is accused of selling narcotics. The civilian was arrested on August 24 on charge of trading drugs.

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that members of Soqour al-Shamal faction who is loyal to Turkey intercepted civilians from Qazlibash village in Bulbul neighborhood while they were heading to the olive fields and severely beat two of them to prevent them from reaching the farms.

The faction’s members insisted that it’s their right to harvest the olive not the civilians.

According to SOHR activists, the looted olive trees by Soqour al-Shamal faction are 7,000 trees that are owned by civilians known as “R.J.”, “A.Kh.” and “M.A.”

On the other hand, on Oct. 3, Soqour al-Shamal faction had looted the harvest of 17,000 trees in villages of Abedwan, Qarnah and Shikourzah and they squeezed it in an olive presser in Qarnah village.

SOHR activists had documented that Turkey-backed factions hindered the civilians’ way to their on pretext of imposing curfew to control spread of COVID-19. In Aranda village that affiliated to Sheikh Hadeed in Afrin countryside, one its population tried to reach his olive trees in al-Sheikh Hadeed to harvest hundreds of trees, but when he arrived, Soqour al-Shamal faction checkpoint has rejected to enter him on pretext of closing the areas and imposing curfew due to COVID-19. Meanwhile, some sources said the faction has stolen fifty trees from 300 ones the civilian owned while the faction has assigned the mayors of the villages under control of the faction to impose 25 percent levy on the olive production of this season.

The same faction has imposed large amounts of money on the proxies of the land owners based on the size of the land and the fruits that could reach 1,000 USD. It is worth noting that the proxy is a member of the first-degree relatives of the land owner
