Security chaos escalates in rebel controlled areas | Unidentified gunmen shoot dead village mayor in rural Aleppo

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have documented the death of the mayor of al-Hardana village and the injury of two of his companions in Akhtirin district in the northern countryside of Aleppo due to gunfire by gunmen believed to be from “al-Jerkis” family in the village.

According to local sources, “al-Jerkis” family accused the assassinated mayor of “cooperating with al-Jabha al-Shamiyah for looting properties of a man known by his initials as M. J.”, as the two sides had exchanged fire yesterday.

These developments came in light of the escalating security chaos in areas under the control of Turkish-backed factions.

Meanwhile, members of al-Jabha al-Shamiyah looted vehicles and properties of M. J. who was accused of being a drug dealer in al-Herdanah village in Aleppo countryside yesterday.
