The regime forces burn some corpses of IS militants after beheading one of them
Al- Hasakah Province:
Local reliable sources informed SOHR that members of the regime forces and NDF in the city of al- Hasakah brought 5 corpses of IS militants, who were killed in clashes in south of the city, yesterday from the industrial zone in the city, then they burn them in front of the public. The sources confirmed to SOHR activists that one of the corpses was beheaded.
It is noted that SOHR received a video in June 12, shows a member of the regime forces mutilating a corpse of a man, expected to be a fighter. The video shows the member slaughtering the victim in a very cruel way and taking the victim’s eye out by a knife as he cursed the body. He was surrounded by his friends who encouraged him to mutilate the corpse. The member appears in this video talking with the body “this is for all Alawite girls, you want to approach Lattakia and our relatives, we have lost very handsome young men, I swear by God I will drink your blood, you want to confront al- Assad’s men, you attack us by gas, come and fight us by guns”. 2 other members of the regime forces appear in this video ridiculing and saying to the member after beheading the corpse “May God reward you greatly” (expressing condolences), this is because you make troubles for your father.”
SOHR has not been able to know the place and time of this incident or to know the identity of this corpse.
In May 7, SOHR received a video shows members of the regime forces mutilating a corpse of a fighter killed in clashes with them. The video shows one of the regime forces’ members slaughtering the body and attempting to behead it by hitting the neck of the body by a sharp tool, after he beheaded the corpse he cut the hand saying “ this is to ensure that he is not going to raise his finger and say there is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is Allah’s messenger and to be thrown in hell”. Then, one of members said “let’s take the head to Abo Ali Ramiz.”
Meanwhile, SOHR knew that one of the regime members from the province of Homs brought with him 8 heads for fighters, who have Caucasian features, from the province of Idlib.
In March 23, SOHR knew that the regime forces in the airbase of Deir Ezzor beheaded 2 fighters of a pro- IS rebel battalion in the vicinity of the airbase after they captured them in the clashes around the airbase in late last December. Cross- cutting sources confirmed to SOHR that the regime forces published photos of the two heads on the WhatsApp account of one of the two fighters.
Weeks ago, SOHR received photos shows members of the regime forces and allied militiamen carrying heads of IS militants killed in the clashes in Sha’er area in the east of Homs in early March. They said that they beheaded them to take revenge for their friends who were beheaded by IS. SOHR also received photos members of the regime forces and allied militiamen carrying heads of IS militants killed in the vicinity of the airbase of Deir Ezzor.
