Ras al-Ain (Sere Kanye) countryside | Exchange attacks between Ankara-backed factions and SDF

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists have documented exchange of attacks between the Turkish-backed National Army and the SDF on the frontlines of Ras al-Ain (Sere Kanye) southern countryside in al-Hasakah province, where grenades and medium machineguns were used in the attacks. However, no casualties have been reported yet.

On Oct 12, SOHR activists reported that Turkish forces renewed ground shelling, targeting civilians’ houses in Tel Tamr countryside in al-Hasakah province. The shelling was concentrated on the Assyrian villages of Tel Keifjy, Tel Shinan and Tel Joma’a, which caused destruction of several houses and damage to civilians’ properties. The Turkish shelling also hit churches, mosques and graveyards in these villages.

This development coincided with the ongoing Turkish military escalation in north-east Syria region.
