New reconciliations in Daraa | Regime forces start settling status of suspects in al-Lajat

Daraa province: As striking new reconciliations continues in the eastern countryside of Daraa, SOHR sources have reported that regime forces started settling status of security suspects, military deserters and young people who passed their date of joining the mandatory service in Mahajah town and some villages and towns in al-Lajat area in Daraa countryside.

Last night, SOHR activists reported that the Russian Military Police accompanied with military groups of regime forces and security services arrived in al-Jizah town in the eastern countryside of Daraa province to continue reconciliation deals, after being suspended for five days following a dispute over the amount of weapons supposed to be handed over by suspects from the town to the Security Committee.

On the other hand, regime forces removed three military checkpoints in Daraa al-Balad and Tariq al-Sadd today.

According to SOHR sources, al-Shalal, al-Kaziyah and al-Karak checkpoints in Daraa al-Balad neighbourhoods and Tariq al-Sadd neighbourhood in Daraa city were removed this morning. However, regime forces maintained only the checkpoints that were established in accordance with the latest settlement agreement, which was agreed on with the negotiating committee and Daraa dignitaries.

On Thursday, SOHR sources reported that regime forces blew up the house of a man rejected to strike a new reconciliation deal with security services, during the regime forces’ inspection of houses in Nahteh town in the eastern countryside of Daraa. It is worth noting that regime forces had set fire to the house of the man, who was accused of “belonging to ISIS and kidnapping people from al-Suwaidaa previously”.

Meanwhile, striking new reconciliation continues in areas in the eastern countryside of Daraa in accordance with the Russian-sponsored agreements reached between the dignitaries of the eastern countryside of Daraa and the regime security committee. According to these agreements, individual weapons are supposed to be handed over, along with inspection of houses of the town.

SOHR sources reported earlier this morning that regime forces entered Nahteh town in the eastern countryside of Daraa, where striking the new reconciliation deals started in accordance with the Russian-sponsored agreements reached between the dignitaries of the eastern countryside of Daraa and the regime security committee. According to these agreements, individual weapons were supposed to be handed over, along with inspection of houses of the town.

Separately, Russian forces distributed bags containing one kilogram of sugar and one litre of sunflower oil each to families in Tasil town in the western countryside of Daraa in an attempt to woo the region’s residents.

On October 20, SOHR sources reported that regime forces ordered the dignitaries of Alma town in the eastern countryside of Daraa to hand over 15 individual firearms, threatening to bombard the village, if they did not get the requested number of weapons. Accordingly, several individuals later called upon the village’s residents, using loudspeakers of the village’s mosques, to donate money in order to buy individual weapons and hand them over to regime forces, so that the town would evade any military operations by regime forces.
