For “involvement in bombing regime military bus” | Security services arrest over ten people in Damascus

Damascus province: SOHR sources have reported that the regime’s security services conducted a large-scale security campaign, in the past two days, in the areas of al-Dahalil, Bayader Nader and Nahr Aysha near the Southern Bypass in the capital, Damascus.

During the campaign, the security services arrested 11 people from their houses for “involving in the latest IED attack” which targeted a bus of the “military housing” under al-Ra’ees bridge on October 20, 2021, and left 14 regime soldiers and officials of the Ministry of Defence and Military Housing.

It is worth noting that the attacked bus driver was from al-Dahalil area which was stormed during the security campaign, as several people were arrested there.

On October 20, SOHR activists reported that security regime forces partially opened al- Jisr al-Ra’es Road in the middle of Damascus after all the branch streets leading to that road have been closed due to the explosion, in the morning, of a bus carrying regime soldiers after detonations of two IEDs. The explosion left at least 14 soldiers dead and four other wounded.

It is worth noting that the bridge was a meeting point between al-Barakamah and Abou Romanah. According to SOHR, the regime forces cordoned off the area by establishing checkpoints and carefully check the by-passer.
