With ongoing civilian exodus | Turkish forces continue their bombardment on Assyrian villages in al-Hasakah countryside

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR sources have reported artillery fire by Turkish forces since early hours of Monday morning, which targeted Assyrian villages in Tel Tamr countryside in north-western al-Hasakah. The shells hit civilians’ houses in the villages of Tel Shenan, Tel Kifiji, Tel Jimaah and al-Dardarah, amid displacement of the remaining residents from that region to safer places.

Moreover, Turkish forces stationed in “Peace Spring” areas shelled positions in Tel Tamr countryside yesterday, but no casualties have been reported.

On October 23, SOHR sources reported that Turkish forces expanded the scope of their artillery fire on positions in the northern countryside of al-Hasakah, as the Turkish artillery shells hit positions in Abu Raseen countryside (Zarkan) and the villages of al-Dardarah, Tel Shanan and Tawilah in Tel Tamr countryside. The Turkish bombardment caused material damage to the civilians’ properties, but no casualties were reported.

Observatory activists reported earlier in the morning that Turkish forces fired several artillery shells, targeting positions in the Assyrian Tel Shanan in the countryside of Tel Tamr in the northern countryside of al-Hasakah. However no casualties were reported.
