Alarming phenomenon | Nearly ten new-born infants found on roadside in areas controlled by HTS and opposition factions in Idlib

SOHR activists in areas under the control of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and opposition factions in Idlib province have reported that an infant was found dead near a dumpster in Marrat Misrin city. Accordingly, the number of new-born babies found in areas controlled by Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and opposition factions in Idlib since early 2021 has reached nine, among them there were two babies found dead.

 

Further details on the circumstances of these incident could be summarised as follows:

 

  • October 27: An infant was found dead near a dumpster in Marrat Misrin city in Idlib countryside

 

  • September 5: A new-born girl was found near the local council in Kafr Arouq town in the northern countryside of Idlib.

 

  • July 9: A new-born girl was found in the orchards between Sarmada city and Batabu in Idlib countryside.

 

  • March 24: A baby was found inside an abandoned house in the city of Jisr Al-Shughour in the western countryside of Idlib.

 

  • March 23: A baby was found in a box on a street in Idlib city.

 

  • February 22: A baby aged only a few months was found alive inside a bag of clothes, near a mosque in the city of Ariha in Idlib countryside.

 

  • February 21: A new-born baby girl was found inside a cardboard box on the side of the road between Maryamin Darkush in the western countryside of Idlib. Sadly, the girl died of the cold, while a group of people was taking her to the hospital.

 

  • January 19: A new-born baby was found on the road in al-Qusour neighbourhood in Idlib city.

 

  • January 12: A baby was found on a sidewalk in the city Ariha.
