SOHR exclusive | Turkish-backed division in Aleppo manufacture and export illicit pills

Aleppo province: SOHR sources have reported that Turkish-backed factions stormed a factory for manufacturing narcotics in the northern countryside of Aleppo in early October, where they destroyed large amounts of raw materials used for manufacture illicit pills, as well as other products that were ready to be sold to dealers.

 

According to SOHR sources, the factory is under supervision of a military commander in al-Hamza Division known by his initials as R. B. who is a prominent official in charge of mercenaries in Libya. The security operation followed a disagreement with commanders of the Turkish-backed factions over revenue-sharing.

 

Very reliable SOHR activists have confirmed that the material used for manufacturing illicit pills in this factory were imported as raw materials needed for manufacturing detergents.

 

SOHR sources have also reported that the productive capacity of the factory reaches 40,000 pills a day. However, the factory had produced a lower amount every day the lack of raw materials. The factory’s products have been distributed in north-west Syria region. In addition, the illicit pills produced by this factory were shipped to Turkey and Libya, according to testimonies by some Syrian mercenaries in Libya.

 

On October 3, SOHR activists reported clashes between al-Hamza Division on one hand, and the military police and the unified leadership room of “Azzem” on the other, after the military police and Azzem unified leadership room had stormed a factory for manufacturing illicit pills between al-Bastoutah and Burj Abdallo villages near Jendires neighbourhood in Afrin countryside.
