With reportedly preparations for Turkish military operation | Turkish forces bombard Abu Raseen countryside

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists have reported artillery fire by Turkish forces this evening, on al-Rubaya’at village in the western countryside of Abu Rassen “Zarkan” in al-Hasakah province. However, no casualties have been reported yet.

 

This bombardment coincided with circulation of several reports on media regarding preparations for a new Turkish military operation in SDF-held areas. Meanwhile, military operations in Abu Rassen district have been suspended for nearly two months, but they have been concentrated at Tel Tamr district in al-Hasakah countryside.

 

Today, SOHR activists had reported that Aamodah, al-Darbasyah, Abu Rassen (Zarkan) , areas at the border with Turkey under control of the Autonomous Administration in al-Hasakah countryside witnessed security alert via running patrols and establishing checkpoints to monitor the people movements via searching the cars and checking the IDs.

 

Such moves took place over concerns of operations by the Turkish intelligence and proxies cells in the aforementioned areas amid Turkish media escalation over anticipated military operation targeting the Autonomous Administration -held areas in northeast Syria.

 

Earlier in the day, SOHR activists reported flows of Turkey-backed factions members from Hewar Kals crossing on northeast Aleppo to the Turkish lands and moving to the Peace Spring areas in the countryside of al-Raqqa and al-Hasakah.

 

According to SOHR members of factions affiliated to al-Hamzah Division, al-Rahman Crops, Sultan Murad, Ahrar al-Sharqiyah, Jish al-Sharqiyah, Suliman Sha and the 9th Division beside other formations of Turkey-backed National Army have arrived yesterday evening to Tal Abyad at the border with Turkey in north al-Raqqa after crossing the Turkish lands coming from Euphrates Shield areas in Aleppo countryside.

 

The movements of faction members came amid Turkish military mobilization that arrived in Tal Abyad in the past two days along with Turkish talks about the anticipated launch of an operation that targets SDF-held areas in north east Syria.

 

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported the entry reinforcements loaded with heavy weapons including tanks, armored vehicles, military and logistic equipment towards Tal Abyad City at the border with Turkey within the Peace Spring areas in north al-Raqqa.

 

Those activities happened for the second consecutive day amid Turkish talks about the beginning of military operation for targeting the SDF-held areas in northeast al-Raqqa.
