SOHR: 5 members of “Hezbollah” and pro-Iranian factions were killed in the Israeli strike on Syria

The “Syrian Observatory for Human Rights” stated that the Israeli bombardment, which targeted this afternoon, Saturday, locations in the countryside of Damascus, resulted in the killing of 5 members of the Lebanese “Hezbollah” and armed factions loyal to Iran.

And the observatory spoke of “the killing of 5 militias affiliated with Hezbollah and the Iranians, and it is not known whether they were Syrians or of non-Syrian nationalities, as a result of the Israeli targeting today on the northwest of Damascus, which was carried out with surface-to-surface missiles from the occupied territories.”

He added that the strike “targeted a shipment of weapons and ammunition belonging to Hezbollah and the Iranians, which was heading to Lebanon in the Dimas area and Qudsaya, northwest of Damascus, which led to its destruction,” noting that “the death toll is likely to rise because some of the wounded are in critical conditions.”

And the Syrian army had previously announced, through a military source, who spoke to the official “SANA” news agency, that “two soldiers were wounded and some material losses occurred” as a result of the Israeli shelling that reverberated throughout the capital, according to media reports.

The military source stressed: “Our air defenses confronted the aggression’s missiles and shot down some of them.”

Over the past years, Israel has launched hundreds of raids in Syria, saying that these operations are aimed at preventing the military establishment of armed factions loyal to Iran in Syrian territory.

Israel rarely confirms the implementation of its strikes in Syria, but it reiterates that it will continue to confront what it describes as Iran’s attempts to establish its military presence there.
