Ongoing violations | Factional clashes erupt in Afrin city centre, while another fight leave many wounded near Rajo district

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported violent clashes between the factions of Ahrar al-Sharqiyah and al-Moatasem Division in al-Villat street in Afrin City centre in the early hours of Monday morning.

 

According to SOHR activists, verbal altercation took place between a member of al-Moatasem Division from Aleppo city and another member of Ahrar al-Sharqiyah, before it later was evolved to violent clashes between the two factions. However, no casualties have been reported so far.

 

SOHR activists have also documented the wounding of a civilian from Kouliya village in Rajo district, after being hit with an indiscriminate gunshot following clashes between members of al-Hamazah Division and other unknown militants over looting olive.

 

According to SOHR activists, militiamen of al-Hamzah Division stationed at a military checkpoint near Rajo have opened fire on militants with bags of looted olive in their possession, after they refused to share the olive with the checkpoint’s members. Violent clashes erupted between the two sides that led to the wounding of the civilian and several members of al-Hamzah Division at the checkpoint.
