SOHR: Syria..the increase in killings in Daraa after the “settlement agreement”

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced that a young man succumbed to his wounds, on Saturday, after he was shot in front of his house in the city of al-Sanamayn in the northern countryside of Daraa, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The observatory said that after the death of the young man, the number of killings and assassinations rose to 4 within one day in Daraa governorate.

A “collaborator with the State Security Branch,” from the town of Al-Shajara, in the Yarmouk Basin area in the western countryside of Daraa governorate, was killed by unidentified gunmen on the outskirts of the town.

Unidentified assailants assassinated “an element responsible for the radar of the Military Security” near the town of Al-Naima in the eastern countryside of Daraa governorate, and shot him between the Sidon Bridge and the radar barrier.

The number of deaths since the agreement between the regime and the opposition in Daraa governorate last September has risen to 27, according to the observatory, and they are 16 civilians, including a child, and some of them were former fighters in the ranks of the factions, and they became civilians after the settlement agreement, in addition to 11 members of the regime forces and “ The Fifth Corps” backed by Russia, and collaborators with the regime’s security services.

In a related context, an explosive device exploded in the car of the wife of a retired colonel in the ranks of the regime forces, who is the vice president of the Syrian Football Association, and she is a doctor, near a military checkpoint of the regime forces at the gate of the Ninth Division on the Al-Sanamayn-Jbab road in Daraa countryside, seriously wounding her .

 

According to the statistics of the Syrian Observatory, the number of attacks and assassination attempts in Daraa and southern Syria through the detonation of explosive devices, mines, booby-trapped mechanisms and shooting, carried out by armed cells during the period from June 2019 to October 2021, amounted to more than 1,200.

The death toll during the same period reached 870, and they are 263 civilians, including 14 female citizens and 25 children, in addition to 393 regime forces and militiamen loyal to them and collaborators with the security forces, and 152 faction fighters who made “settlements and reconciliations” and became among the regime’s security services. Among them are former leaders, 27 of the Syrian militias affiliated with the Lebanese Hezbollah and Iranian forces, in addition to 35 of the so-called “Fifth Corps.”
