Al-Suwaidaa | Member of al-Baath Party kills local gunman close to Lebanese Hezbollah

Al-Suwaidaa province: SOHR sources have reported that a member of al-Baath Party known by his initials as M. D. killed a local gunman close to Lebanese Hezbollah known as M. D. in Salkhad city in al-Suwaidaa countryside, when the killer and a group of gunmen stormed the local gunman’s house, attempting to kidnap him over an earlier dispute between the killer and the boss of an armed group close to the Lebanese Hezbollah known by his initials as N. S.

 

The killer managed to escape, after he clashes with a group of gunmen in the city. However, the group kidnapped the killer’s ten-year-old nephew in order to exert pressure on him to surrender. The killer later handed himself to the criminal security services.

 

It is worth noting that the group headed by N. S. was involved in several incidents of killing and kidnapping in the province and smuggling narcotics out of Syria through Jordan.

 

It is also worth noting that the killed man was the brother-in-law of N. S.

 

On November 1, SOHR activists reported that a group of gunmen affiliated to the military security service travelling in a four-wheel drive vehicles (4×4) severely beat members of a patrol of al-Suwidaa police on Sunday.

 

According to SOHR activists, members of the police patrol attempted to overtake the armed group’s cars, one of which was carrying the leader of group known by his initials as R. F. before the armed men assaulted the patrol’s members in front of the gate of the National Hospital in al-Swuidaa. Although there was a police outpost affiliated to the security services at the hospital’s gate, the security men stationed there did not interfered.

 

That assault came a few hours after unknown armed group had broken into the petroleum company in al-Suwaidaa city where they fired bullets in the air and assaulted several civilians and employees. The attackers also kidnapped a regime officer and a policeman who were in the company and seized their car.
