After paying ransom | Military police release 14 civilians and arrest three others in Afrin countryside

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that the military police and Muhammed al-Fateh faction, which control the village of Maamal Oshaghi in Rajo district in Afrin countryside, released 14 civilians from Maamal Oshaghi village, after paying a ransom of 1,400 Turkish liras by their relatives.

According to SOHR sources, the released civilians had been arrested by the Turkish-backed factions on November 1 for “dealing with the former Autonomous Administration”.

The release of these civilians coincided with a raid by joint patrols of the Military Police and Muhammad al-Fateh faction, targeting three houses in Maamal Oshaghi village where they arrested three other civilians on charged of “participating in guard shifts during the former Autonomous Administration control of the canton. The arrested civilians were taken to the military police’s headquarters in Rajo district.
