Aleppo | Russian forces withdraw from al-Areema base towards Um Mayal base in Manbij countryside

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have documented the withdrawal of Russian forces, this evening, from al-Areema base in the western countryside of Manbij towards Um Mayal base in Manbij countryside in east Aleppo countryside. The Russian convoys comprised tanks and personnel carriers, amid reports of evacuation of the base completely.

 

A few days ago, SOHR activists reported that Russian forces established a new military base on Aleppo-Hasakah national road “M4” eastern of Manbij city in the eastern Aleppo countryside.

 

According to sources, Russian vehicles had stationed in an artillery base where regime forces were stationed.

 

The new base is 20 kilometers away from the Turkish forces-held areas in the north.

 

These developments came in order to strengthen the presence of Russian forces from the eastern Aleppo countryside to Ain Eissa north of al-Raqqa province on the Aleppo-Hasakah national road.

 

Russian forces had strengthened their presence from Manbij city along reaching to al-Raqqa countryside in the northeastern Syrian areas, by establishing military bases such as al-Sa’aedeya base northwestern of Manbij city where Russian forces had stationed in after the withdrawal of American forces.

 

Similarly, Russian forces had established four other military bases in al-Raqqa and the eastern Aleppo countryside. The most important one is in the al-Tabqa military airport after kicking SDF from it, then Russian forces brought helicopters and military vehicles to the military base.

 

Moreover, a Russian base was established in the 93th Armored Brigade which is affiliated to the 17th Division in Ain Eissa city northern of al-Raqqa city near the frontlines between Turkish-backed factions, SDF and regime forces.

 

In the 17th Marching Division in the northeastern vicinity adjacent to al-Raqqa city, a military base was established and reinforced by heavy weapons and tanks.

 

Russian forces also established a military base in Ain al-Arab (Kubani) countryside after the US forces had withdrawn from it.
