Landmine attack | Explosion hits SDF military vehicle in al-Raqqah, leaving one injured

SOHR sources have reported that an SDF fighter was injured in the explosion of a landmine planted earlier by unknown individuals by the road near al-Basel roundabout in al-Raqqah city, as the landmine exploded while an SDF military vehicle was passing.

 

This attack coincided with the prevalence of ISIS cells across SDF-held areas.

 

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that three SDF military positions came under attack, in the evening, by gunmen believed to be of ISIS cells. According to SOHR sources, gunmen opened fire on al-Hadiqah checkpoint, but no casualties were reported.

 

Also, unknown gunmen on a motorcycle targeted an SDF vehicle with RPG in Daman village, near al-Busayrah city in Deir Ezzor countryside.

 

Meanwhile, SOHR activists had reported that clashes erupted in the evening in al-Busayra city in Deir Ezzor countryside following an attack by ISIS members on the headquarters of the SDF-backed First Brigade, where they targeted the headquarters with RPG shells. However, no casualties were reported.

 

A few hours earlier, SOHR activists reported new air drop-off by the International Coalition with participation of the SDF in ground in the early hours of Monday. The raid had targeted a house in al-Sobha village in east Deir Ezzor village.

 

According to SOHR activists in the region, a man was killed by fire of the International Coalition forces during his attempt of escaping his house while his brother, a former weapons merchant and his wife were arrested on charges of belonging and dealing with ISIS.
