Al-Raqqah province | Russians deploy S300 air defense system in al-Tabaqah Airport

Al-Raqqa province: SOHR activists have reported that the Russian forces have deployed S300 air defense system in al-Tabaqah Airport that is considered as a main positions and base for the Russian forces in al-Raqqa countryside.

The deployment came in light of the Russian intensive activities of the Russians in northeast Syria along with bringing in large military reinforcement in the past few days along with conducting military maneuvers by the regime forces.

Such reinforcements have arrived in al-Tabaqah Airport days ago along with brining in helicopters to the airport. But the question remained, against whom the Russian forces will be directed.

On Nov. 4, SOHR activists reported the arrival of military reinforcement of regime forces in Ain Issa district, the capital of the Autonomous Administration in the northern countryside of al-Raqqah. The recently arrived reinforcement, which came from al-Tabaqah airbase in al-Raqqah countryside, comprised heavy guns, heavy gears and buses carrying soldiers.
On November 1, SOHR activists reported the arrival of Russian helicopters in al-Tabaqah city’s airport in west al-Raqqah countryside.
According to SOHR sources, the airport experienced landings and take-offs by Russian helicopters in the previous two days in light of the growing tension in north and east Syria. Furthermore, Turkish forces and their proxy factions in “Peace Spring” areas continued bringing more military reinforcement, along with the arrival of military reinforcement of SDF and regime forces to the frontlines with Turkish-backed factions in al-Hasakah and al-Raqqah countryside.
