Factional clashes | Leader killed near Iskenderun region

Idlib Province: SOHR has reported the death of a leader of the “first brigade” over the clashes in Babisqa village in the northern countryside of Idlib a few hours ago.

 

Yesterday night, SOHR activists monitored clashes, with machineguns, at military headquarters in the village of Babisqa in northern Idlib, near the Syria border with Iskenderun region.

 

According to Syrian Observatory activists, a group of the 1st Infantry Division clashed with the Division’s leader, Abu al-Braa, after disagreements over a stolen a car.

 

Other sources said that the clashes erupted as the leader rejected to give the division’s memebrs their monthly salaries, which left several casualties. Meanwhile, the executive force of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham mediated to break up the clashes and arrested the gunmen engaged in these clashes.

 

It is worth noting that there were a refugee camp near the military headquarters where the clashes took place.

 

It is also worth noting that Turkey had reduced allocations provided to the military factions in Idlib, while Tahrir al-Sham recruited hundreds of fighters through providing static salaries.
