Ongoing violations in Afrin | Ahrar al-Sham impose new levies on olive farmers, while “al-Jabha al-Shamiyyah” sell displaced people’s houses

Aleppo province: As pro-Turkey factions continuously commit grave violations against Afrin residents by seizing their properties and imposing levies on olive farmers,

SOHR activists have reported that “al-Jabha al-Shamiyyah” which controls Qarzahil village in Shirawa district has imposed a new levy of $100 on each farmer under the pretext of “protecting their farms”.

 

In Afrin city, , SOHR sources reported that a member of “al-Jabha al-Shamiyyah” has sold a house in the Ashrafiyeh neighborhood, which was owned by a civilian from Darker village for $1,200.

 

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that Kafr Zeet village in Afrin countryside encountered campaign of systematic looting and confiscating by Fady al-Batran, leader in al Hamzah Division. Al-Batran looted and harvesting more than 1,000 olive trees despite their owners were in presence in the village and also confiscated agricultural lands by forces and told the population that all lands near by Afrin River became under his control.

 

In Kamrouq village in Ma’abatly neighborhood, Soqour al-Shamal factions that controls the village has imposed levies on the farmers that were valued at 10 percent on the olive harvest and 35 percent on the olive mills, while those violating the decision would be arrested on charges of dealing with the former Autonomous Administration.

 

On the other hand, members of the national Army as chopped 40 olive trees in Trendah village that is owned by a deported civilian from the village in south Afrin city on charges of selling the trees as firewood ahead of the winters, while the process of chopping the wood continues in the farm field that included 130 olive trees.
