After over ten days of tense calm | Turkish forces shell positions in Abu Rasin countryside

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR sources have reported that Turkish forces shelled positions in Tel Amir village in Abu Rasin countryside (Zarkan) with artillery, as four shells hit the surrounding areas of the village and three other shells hit an area close to a nearby petrol station. However, no casualties have been reported.

It is worth noting that the cautious calm has prevailed in this region for over ten days. On November 2, SOHR activists reported that Turkish forces carried out ground shelling in the evening on a al-Derdara village in al-Hasaka governorate. However, no casualties were reported.

A day earlier, SOHR activists reported the arrival of military reinforcements of SDF and its military councils in north-west al-Hasakah province, as Tel Tamr Military Council and Syriac Military Council had boosted their posts and positions on the frontlines of Tel Tamr and Abu Raseen (Zarkaan) with qualitative weapons, including, short, medium and long-range artillery units, missile launchers, heavy machineguns and a large number of special forces’ fighters.

Moreover, SOHR activists reported that SDF obtained qualitative weapons and raised the combat readiness of its fighters in order to confront any possible attacks or surprise infiltrations.

This military reinforcement coincided with bringing in large reinforcement by Turkish forces and their proxy factions to the “Peace Spring” areas and areas in Turkish territory near the border strip between Syria and Turkey.
