For establishing new military base | US troops explore positions in Tel Tamr and stationed in school

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists have reported that a group affiliated to US forces have roamed in Tel Tamr town in al-Hasakah countryside, where a group comprising nearly 40 soldiers entered Mes’ab Bin Amir school in western Tel Tamr this morning. The group later left the school, before five US vehicles and several soldiers returned in the evening and stationed in the school.

According to SOHR sources, the US forces had not expelled the displaced civilians living in the school.

While local sources have reported that the US forces are stationed in the school at night and leave the region in the morning to tour the region.

It is worth noting that US forces aimed to establish a military base in the region, after they had carried out scouting tours a few days ago.

On November 14, SOHR activists said that US forces, escorted by SDF, explored a vast area about 15 kilometers to the south-west of al-Hasakah city, with the aim to establish a military base and an airbase. SOHR activists also reported that the area explored was close to the former regime-backed military regiment of “al-Melibiah’’ which had been disbanded before the beginning of the “Syrian Revolution”.

While on November 9, SOHR activists reported that the US forces toured military patrol in Tal Tamr town in north al-Hasakah countryside, where the US soldiers walked to explore the area in search for a place that is suitable for establishing new military base.

The forces entered with their vehicles the Industrial School in Tal Tamr town.
