Since early November | Over 350 Russian airstrikes target ISIS positions in Syrian Desert

SOHR activists have reported that three Russian fighter jets have bombarded positions in the Syrian Desert this evening, bringing the number of airstrikes executed by Russian since morning to over 40, while these airstrike were executed in 11 aerial operations.

 

These airstrikes hit positions in Palmyra, al-Shawla, al-Rasafa deserts, positions in al-Beshri mountains and other different areas of the Syrian Desert.

 

Accordingly, the number of Russian strikes which targeted scattered ISIS hideouts since the beginning of November has exceeded 350.

 

The Russian airstrikes were concentrated on the area between east Hama desert and al-Rasafah desert in al-Raqqah running through Ithirya and al-Rahjan, and large spaces of Palmyra and Deir Ezzor deserts. These airstrikes coincided with routine combing operations by regime forces in searching for ISIS cells in several positions in the Syrian desert.
