Hours after rising fuel prices | “Salvation Government” reduces weight of bread packs in its held areas for the third time in November

SOHR activists have reported that the “Salvation Government” has issued a decision, reducing the weight of bread packs from 500 grams to 450 grams each, and the number of loaves from six to five. Meanwhile, the price of a bread pack was left unchanged, as it is sold for 2.5 Turkish Liras.

This decision came a week after the latest decision issued by the Salvation Government, reducing the weight of bread packs, for the second time, after reducing them in early November, amid broad discontent among the residents due to the weekly increases in the prices of bread, fuel and essential products.

SOHR reported this morning that Watad company run by Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham raised the prices of fuel and oil once again in areas under its control, as Turkish currency continued to plummet. The new prices were set as follows:

  • Imported Petrol: 9.14 TL per litre.

  • Oil (high quality): 8.50 TL per litre

  • Refined oil: 6.48 TL per litre

  • Gas cylinder: 127.5 TL.

This development coincided with the beginning of winter in light of the dire living and humanitarian conditions of the residents in areas under Tahrir al-Sham’s control.
