Regime repression | Ex-fighter with settled-status dies of wounds sustained while resisting military security members in Rif Dimashq

Rif Dimashq province: SOHR sources have reported that a former fighter with a settled-status from Zakiya town in western Rif Dimashq died of the wounds he sustained nearly 20 days ago, while he was resisting members of the regime military security service stationed at a checkpoint on the road to al-Keswa, who were attempting to arrest him.

 

According to SOHR sources, the ex-fighter attempted to throw a grenade on the checkpoint, but the security members stationed there opened fire on him, injuring him seriously. The man was taken to a hospital in Damascus, before he died today. It is worth noting that the man had settled his security status, before he joined a militia relating to the 4th Division in Zakiya town.

 

On Wednesday, SOHR activists reported that patrols of the regime’s security services found the body of a member of the “military police” on a road in al-Qatifah city in Rif Dimashq on Tuesday evening. The body was taken to the National Hospital in the city, were medics revealed that the cause of death was that the man was hit with a sharp tool on the head, which resulted in a fracture in the skull and internal bleeding.
