Alarming increase in infections number | “Leishmaniasis” prevails in “Peace Spring” areas in northern al-Raqqah

SOHR appeals to concerned organizations to provide cure for infected people

Al-Raqqah province: SOHR sources have reported that hundreds of civilians, mostly children, suffer from “Leishmaniasis”, after the alarming prevalence of the disease in Sluk and Tel Abyad which are under the control of Turkish-backed factions and the factions of “National Army”. This development coincided with the lack of medical care in “Peace Spring” areas, which helped the increasing cases of “Leishmaniasis” in the recent time. Meanwhile, the residents appealed to organizations concerned with health affairs to interfere and provide needed cure.

We, at the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, appeal to all relevant organizations to interfere immediately and provide the needed treatment in light of the increasing of the cases of “Leishmaniasis”.
