Afrin bombardment | 16 people killed in wounded in bombardment on residential neighbourhoods

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have documented the death of two displaced men from Ghouta and a woman and the injury of 13 others, including at least three children, due to artillery and rocket fire on residential neighbourhoods in Afrin city in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

A few hours ago, SOHR sources reported that several rockets hit residential neighbourhoods in Afrin city which is under the control of Turkish-backed factions in the northern countryside of Aleppo. Meanwhile, ambulances were seen rushing to the targeted sites.

This bombardment came a few days after the arrival of military reinforcement of regime forces in the region.

On November 14, SOHR activists reported that regime forces brought in large in military reinforcement to north Aleppo countryside adjacent to the frontlines with Turkish-backed factions.

According to SOHR sources, the new military reinforcement comprised tanks, personnel carriers, soldiers and logistical supplies. The reinforcement, which belonged to the Armoured Brigade of the 3rd Division, started to arrive in these areas at previous night amid strict security measures.

SOHR sources confirmed that the regime forces would be deployed along the frontlines with Turkish-backed factions in Shirawa district in Afrin countryside.

This was the fourth batch of reinforcement to enter the region since Turkish media escalated its propaganda regarding imminent military operation in Kurdish-held areas in north Aleppo countryside.
