Violations in Afrin | Turkish-backed factions arrest seven civilians from Raju district

Aleppo province:  SOHR activists have reported that a joint patrol of military police and Muhammed al-Fateh faction, which control Ma’mal Oshaghi village in Raju district, has arrested six civilians from Ma’mal Oshaghi village, on November 18, on charge of “dealing with the former Autonomous Administration” in order to collect ransoms for their release.

On November 17, members of Muahmmed al-Fateh faction arrested a civilian from the village of Ma’mal Oshaghi in Raju district, for charges of insulting the Turkish forces and their proxies, after the civilian had expelled shepherds affiliated to the Turkish-backed factions from the olive fields, and he was taken to the prison of Raju district.

A few hours ago,  SOHR activists have reported that Ankara-backed factions continued the arbitrary arrests against the remaining residents of Afrin for repeated charges such as dealing with the “Autonomous Administration”. The factions followed this policy to force the residents out in order to settle their militiamen’s families instead in light of the demographic change in Afrin at Turkey’s orders.

In this context, SOHR activists reported that members of a military police patrol raided Kafr Safra village in Jinderes district on November 18, where they arrested three civilians for “dealing with the former Autonomous Administration” to collect ransoms for their release. The arrested civilians were taken to the military police headquarters in Jinderes district until their relatives paid the ransom.

Moreover, a joint patrol of military police and Turkish intelligence arrested a civilian from Rajo village, on November 10, and took him to the notorious Ma’rata prison on charge of “teaching Kurdish language during the control of the Autonomous Administration of Afrin city”.
