Ongoing violations | 70 % of bushes in village in Sharran district and over 120 trees in Afrin cut down by Turkish-backed factions

Aleppo province: As Turkish-backed factions in Afrin city continue systematic destruction of forests, bushes and olive trees in Afrin canton for just “a little” money, SOHR sources have reported that the factions have felled and destroyed nearly 70% of the bushes of Deir Sawwan village in Sharran district since the beginning of the Turkish occupation of Afrin canton with the aim to sell them as logs used for heating.

Moreover, Turkish-backed factions have destroyed Afrin bushes completely in full view of Turkish forces.

On the other hand, Suqur al-Shamal factions have felled over 120 olive trees near the new bridge in Afrin city in order to sell them as logs too. These trees belonged to a civilian from Bolbol district in Afrin countryside.

It is worth noting that the stolen wood and logs are sold in public near the new bridge in Afrin city.
