SOHR: Civilians killed in missile airstrike in central Syria

Israeli fighter jets carried out a missile air strike in central Syria, resulting in the death of several civilians. The Syrian state agency SANA had reported a balance of two dead and seven wounded, of the latter, six are soldiers and another is a civilian.

Likewise, the Syrian army said that Israeli warplanes attacked army positions in the central region of the country during the morning of Wednesday, November 24, leading to the deaths of two.

For their part, the media quoted an anonymous military official who said that the missile airstrike occurred while they were flying over neighboring Lebanon’s airspace at 1:26 a.m. (2326 GMT). In April, Syria reportedly launched a missile near an Israeli nuclear reactor.

Israeli missile airstrike in Syria

The anonymous military man said that Syria’s air defenses responded to the air attack with missiles by shooting down most of them, unfortunately there were casualties as well as some material damage.

Meanwhile, a Syrian opposition group monitoring the war noted that the attacks had reached positions where host Syrian fighters loyal to the Lebanese group Hezbollah, west of the central city of Homs.

For its part, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the attacks left four dead, two who lost their lives when they were hit by parts of a Syrian surface-to-air missile that struck the central city of Homs.

Israel does not recognize attack on Syria

Israel has carried out hundreds of attacks on targets inside Syria controlled by the government over the years, but rarely acknowledges or discusses such operations. But it has recognized that it is targeting the bases of Iran’s allied militias, such as the Lebanese Hezbollah group that has fighters deployed in Syria.

Israel says it is targeting arms shipments believed to be destined for militias as Hezbollah is fighting on the side of Syrian President Bashar Assad’s forces in a decade-long civil war.

Regarding it, Israel says Iranian presence on its northern border is a red line, which justifies their attacks on facilities and weapons inside Syria. Filed Under: Israeli airstrike leaves deadly balance.

US kills al Qaeda leader

The United States last month launched an airstrike (with a drone) that killed an al Qaeda leader in Syria who was identified as Abdul Hamid al-Matar, this according to the Pentagon.

“An American airstrike in northwestern Syria killed senior al Qaeda leader Abdul Hamid al-Matar”Said a spokesman for the Central Command, Army Major John Rigsbee, in a statement, according to the Efe report.

But on November 24, Syria suffered from an air attack with missiles by Israel, sadly four people lost their lives.
