Deteriorating security in Daraa | Unknown gunmen shoot “collaborator” with regime security services dead

Daraa province: SOHR sources have reported that unknown gunmen shot dead a civilian accused of “ dealing with regime security services” in al-Muzayreb town in the western countryside of Daraa.

 

Accordingly, the number of people who were killed across Daraa province since the start of the recent agreements has risen to 63. The fatalities were distributed as follows:

 

  • 33 civilians, including two child and a woman, some of them were former fighter and gave up fighting after striking reconciliation deals in 2018.

 

  • 26 regime soldiers, members of the Russian-backed 5th Corps and regime “collaborators”.

 

  • Four local gunmen of anti-reconciliation groups.

 

Since the beginning of the security chaos in Daraa in early June 2019, Syrian Observatory activists have documented more than 1,245 attacks and assassination attempts by gunfire and detonations of IEDs, motorcycle-bombs and car-bombs. These attacks and assassinations claimed the lives of 904 persons, categorised as follows:

 

  • Four local gunmen of anti-reconciliation groups.

 

  • 280 civilians, including 15 women and 26 children

 

  • 403 regime soldiers, loyalists and collaborators with regime security services.

 

  • 155 fighters of factions that struck “reconciliation and settlements” deals with the regime and became in the ranks of regime’s security branches, including former commanders.

 

  • 27 Syrian militiamen affiliated to the Lebanese Hezbollah and Iranian forces.

 

  • 35 members of the so-called 5th Corps which was established by Russia.
