Arrested earlier for “belonging to ISIS” | SDF to release over 850 detainees after tribal mediations

SOHR sources have reported that Syria Democratic Forces are preparing to release a large number of detainees arrested earlier for “belonging to ISIS”, as it is expected that at least 850 prisoners, mostly from Deir Ezzor and Al-Hasakah, will be released in the incoming hours. This development comes after mediation by tribes’ dignitaries in the region.

It is not known yet if all the prisoners will be released at once or in several batches.

On September 22, SOHR activists reported that SDF released nine residents from al-Shuaytaat who were arrested a week earlier from Abu Hamam town in Deir Ezzor countryside, after they took part in a demonstration against SDF’s policies against people of Deir Ezzor.
