Disastrous situation | Inhabitants of “Watan” camp complain of lack of relieving support and water

Idlib province: The inhabitants of “Watan” refugee camp in Kafr Jales village nearby Idlib city are struggling with dire humanitarian situation due to the heavy rain.

It is worth noting that the camp was established by “Watan” organization with cooperation with the Ministry of Local Administration of the “Salvation Government”. After transporting displaced families to the camp, “Watan” organization obligated to provide full support to the camp, like many organizations providing support to several camps in north Syria region.

After transporting nearly 2,000 people to the camp, the organization suspended its support, except for delivering drinking water in summer. According to the camp’s inhabitants the bad weather has affected the ability of the solar panels used for operating water pumps to pull water from artesian wells.

Moreover, several people living in the camp reported that “Watan” organization has distributed food baskets with products valued only 40 TL.

The inhabitants of “Watan” camp have blamed the Ministry of Local Administration the Department of the Displaced People Affairs of the “Salvation Government” for this dire living situation, after they had been transported to it with the aim to unify the support provided to the refugee camps.
