New defection | Leader and other fighters of al-Hamza division flee to regime-held areas, east of Aleppo

Aleppo province: “Abu Maryam” a leader of Turkish-backed “Al-Hamza Division”, who was in charge of Al-Sukkariyah village in al-Bab countryside, east of Aleppo and other members have split from “Al-Hamza Division” and headed towards regime-held areas, according to SOHR sources.

Members of the National Army stationed in the village of Sukkariyah have killed a fighter and wounded others while trying to reach Syrian regime-held areas. However, the regime forces have covered them by opening heavy machine- gun fire and firing rockets on the area, to secure access for the rest of the fighters to their-held areas.

It is worth noting that Sukkariyah village in al-Bab countryside is one of the most prominent areas, where Human trafficking and goods smuggled into and out of areas controlled by the Syrian regime occur. therefore; Turkish-backed factions compete with each others to possess routes used for smuggling
