SOHR: Three killed in Minbej bombing – Family evacuated

Two women and a child, members of the same family, were killed and five others were injured in an attack Saturday in Minbej, a Kurdish-controlled city in northern Syria, according to local authorities.

The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a rally in the southern part of the city, killing at least 12 people and wounding dozens more, officials said.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a British-based non-governmental organization based in Syria, said the blast was caused by a car bomb.

The NGO spoke of two civilians killed and five wounded, including two members of the Kurdish security services.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), a Kurdish-led Arab-Kurdish alliance that spearheaded the fight against jihadists, controls large parts of eastern and northeastern Syria, a country where armed conflict has been raging since 2011.
