Old ordnance | Landmine explosion kills commander in National Defence and his brother in Hama

SOHR activists have documented the death of a commander of the regime-backed National Defence Forces and his brother, due to the explosion of an old landmine in Murek city in the northern Hama countryside.

It is worth noting that, landmines and old ordnances have been prevalent in areas that experienced military operations and frontlines separating military powers from each others.

On November 1, SOHR activists documented the death of three members of the HTS-backed brigade of “Othman Ibn Affan”, while attempting to dismantle an unexploded bomb near frontlines with regime forces in Kabana in the northern countryside of Latakia.

While on October, SOHR activists reported the death and injury of seven rebels in landmine explosions near frontlines with regime forces
